Ten State FFA Officers. One Executive Secretary. A fifteen passenger van and over 1,000 miles to travel in five days. Sounds fun? The State FFA Officers think it is because they do it every year during Goodwill Tour, and they hope to be coming to a town near you very soon! Each February during National FFA Week, the State IFA Officers embark on a whirlwind tour through either north or south Louisiana (the location rotates each year). The State FFA Officers had a wonderful Goodwill Tour 2008. We visited the State Spring Livestock Show Awards Ceremony at Lamar Dixon Facility on Saturday, and Monday through Friday, we visited Grand Lake High, Sam Houston High, McNeese State University - Dr. Chip LeMieux, Bell City High, Welsh High, Elton High, University of Louisiana - Lafayette - Dr. Leon Labbe, Rayne High, LSU - Baton Rouge - Dr. Betsy Garrison, St. Amant High, Walker High, Denham Springs High, Loranger High, Pine High, Springfield High, Central Lafourche High, Southern University - Baton Rouge - Chancellor Williams, Dr. Willie Rawls and Mr. William Augustine, Commissioner of Agriculture - Dr. Mike Strain, LSU AgCenter - Chancellor Bill Richardson and Vice-Chancellor Paul Coreil, the Louisiana Department of Education - Ms. Ollie Tyler, and the Louisiana Farm Bureau - Mr. Jim Monroe.
