SBA Community Express Loan Seminar scheduled June 14
WHO: The United States Small Business Administration and the Southern University Ag Center, Center
for Rural and Small Business Development.
WHAT: Invite potential and existing business owners and contractors who need up to $25,000 in working
capital to attend a free SBA Community Express Loan Seminar.
WHEN: Thursday, June 14, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: Southern University A & M College Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union Cotillion Ballroom, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
INFO: The seminar is open to potential and existing business owners and contractors who need working capital loans of up to
$25,000. Attendees who do not face specific obstacles can apply for loans during the seminar. Applicants must provide business checks and pictured identification,
such as driving licenses during application. Loan approval time takes a few days, depending upon applicant's credit situation. Funds will be deposited directly
into applicant's business checking account, upon approval. Representatives from United States Small Business Administration will be available to discuss other
SBA programs, guarantees, certification process, bonds and surety, GO Loans, and disaster loans.
OBSTACLES: Obstacles to loan approval include: defaults in student loans or child support payment; delinquent state or
federal taxes; derogatory credit; bankruptcy in the last seven years; failure to follow court proceedings or re-establish credit; and having an existing felony
record.
