The Southern University Ag Center to provide
a mobile satellite information communication unit
The Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center is providing a mobile
satellite information communication unit for various parishes that the Ag Center serves.
The first opportunity to provide this service to victims of Hurricane Katrina will be
Wednesday, September 21 and Thursday, September 22 at the Turner Chapel AME Church in
Greensburg, LA, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The Ag Center will provide assistance with:
- completing various forms and applications as required by local, state and federal agencies,
- locating displaced family members, and
- reporting claims to insurance agencies.
The mobile satellite information communication unit will travel to other targeted communities
across the state of Louisiana. Transportation will be provided from the area shelters.
