Southern University Ag Center hosts Nutrition Conference
in New Orleans
FF-NEWS Conference set to kick-off October 26
The Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SUAREC) will host the
first annual Families-First Nutrition Education and Wellness System Conference October 26-28
in New Orleans, at the LePavillion Hotel. The three-day conference will focus on nutrition
education and will provide training on new health and diet initiatives and studies.
Conference keynote speakers include Esther Phillips, USDA FNS Acting Regional Administrator
- Southwest Region Food and Nutrition Service, Tuesday, October 26. USDA Deputy Administrator
for Families, 4-H and Nutrition Mary McPhail-Gray will serve as the keynote speaker, Thursday,
October 28. Other conference speakers and panel members will include representatives from the
Louisiana Public Health Institute, Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, the LSU Ag
Center, and other 1890 colleges and universities.
