Small Business Seminar scheduled for Nov. 16

WHO:    Southern University's Center for Rural and Small Business Development

WHAT:    Presents a seminar on starting, expanding, and financing a business

WHEN:    Thursday, November 16 at 6:00 p.m.

WHERE:    232 South Liberty Street at the Southwest Center for Rural Initiatives' meeting room

INFO:    Attendees will receive information on types of businesses, sources of assistance, business plan development, registration and licensing, and methods of financing. Representatives from the United States Small Business Administration will be available to discuss its programs, guarantees, certification process, bonds and surety, GO Loans, and disaster loans.

"The Southwest Center for Rural Initiatives is demonstrating its commitment to linking resources and technical assistance programs to interested entrepreneurs", says LaVonya Malveaux, director of the Southwest Center.

The Southwest Center for Rural Initiatives is a satellite entity of the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center. Its mission is to promote socioeconomic development within a 10-parish region.
