SU Ag Center and Baton Rouge AIDS Society partner for World AIDS Day
SUAREC presents AIDS 101: A Night of Education

The Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SUAREC) along with the Baton Rouge AIDS Society are partnering for World AIDS Day and are presenting a free educational class: AIDS 101 - A Night of Education on Wednesday, December 1, 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at A.O. Williams Hall on the Southern University campus. The free class is designed to meet the educational needs of health care professionals, community representatives, students, professionals, and health education coordinators, by developing a stronger understanding and community response to HIV/AIDS and other STDs, and to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and other STDs in the Capital area.

By attending the training, participants will enhance their understanding of HIV and AIDS and obtain answers to the following questions:

  • What is the difference between HIV and AIDS?
  • What does the T-Cell have to do with it?
  • Why get tested?
  • What is the State of the State?
  • Can Medicine Help?

Other events for World AIDS Day include:

  • " Everyone Can Do Something to Make a Difference - Women, Girls, HIV, and AIDS; 7 p.m.; St. James Episcopal Church, 208 North 4th St; For more information call Volunteers of America at (225) 922-3900.

Instructors for the class are A.J. "Keepin It Real" Johnson and Eugene "Clean It Up" Collins.
