The two-week, hands-on agricultural experiential learning summer camp was open to students ages 9-11 and focused on various concepts and careers in agriculture and family and consumer sciences.

Thirty-four high schoolers and incoming college freshmen participated in the Southern University College of Agricultural, Family and Consumer Sciences’ 2023 Beginning Agricultural Youth Opportunities Unlimited (BAYOU) Program 

Southern University College of Ag students and faculty members participated in the Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) National Conference Mobile Tour on April 15, 2023.

SU College of Agricultural, Family and Consumer Sciences students and alums are featured in the U. S. Forestry Service video and story on the April 21, 2023, Upward Ground event on environmental justice.

The FAB Lab Youth Leadership Program's summer camp will be held July 17 -28, 2023 in Pinkie Thrift Hall for students ages 12 - 18.

Participants will receive free CSA food bags on a first-come, first-served basis and will be able to purchase clothing, jams, jellies, cakes, skincare products, and food from SU students, local women farmers, and entrepreneurs during the event.
