Growing Healthy Gardening Program

The SNAP-Ed Growing Healthy Gardening Program aims to combat food deserts in low-income or at-risk areas while teaching youth valuable life skills through sustainable agricultural practices. By fostering gardening and physical activity initiatives, we aim to enrich local communities. Through collaboration with community leaders and agencies, we're creating an environment conducive to investment in both the area and its residents. This includes establishing gardening sites and physical activity areas with signage to encourage movement. At this time, we have over 80 functioning gardens throughout the state. This project will provide a safe space for health education and community involvement, with the hope of sustaining community engagement beyond the project's funding period.
