With research-based programming that addresses nutrition, health and wellness, community and economic development, emergency preparedness, financial literacy, and mental health. Key aspects include:
Second Harvest Food Bank: Makin' Groceries
SecondHarvest Food Bank is bringing quality groceries to underserved and at-risk communities. The Makin' Groceries Mobile Market is designed to assist areas known as food deserts by providing fresh produce at discounted prices.
The mobile grocery store has several pop-up shops throughout Acadia, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Martin, St. Landry, Evangeline, Jefferson Davis, and Vermillion parishes. The pop-uptimes vary, but the market is usually open from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Produce is sourced from local farms as much as possible to help Acadiana farmers continue their craft. Second Harvest aims to help the community in as many ways as possible.

Healthy St. Landry Alliance
- Healthy St. Landry was established to create an alliance of community partners who will engage, empower, and educate St. Landry Parish residents for an improved and sustained quality of life.
- Nutritional information is provided along with healthy cooking food demonstrations for citizens.
