Extension Associate, SNAP-Ed & EFNEP / Nutrition Education Programs Coordinator






Joshua B. McDonald is a native of Albany, Georgia. He began employment with the Southern University Ag Center’s Cooperative Extension Program in 2019 as the Field Coordinator of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed). In 2021, he was promoted to the Nutrition Education Programs (NEP) Coordinator, as the Program Director of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP).
Within his years of service at the SU Ag Center, McDonald has become a member of several prestigious professional organizations, such as the Association of Extension Administrators, the Society of Nutrition Education and Behavior, and the 1890 Extension Leadership Academy. He is also a proud recipient of the SU Ag Center’s Outstanding Extension Award (2023).
Joshua obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science from Bethune-Cookman University in 2012 and his master’s degree in public administration from Southern University and A&M College in 2018. He is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy.
Specialization area: Nutrition education, sales and marketing, creating sustainable branding, graphic design, social media programming, and office and property management.
