The Southern University Ag Center and the SU College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences (CAHES) will host the Cultivating Capacity, Empowering Futures Professional Development Summit for Southern University students with international renewable energy company DRAX.

The summit will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Leon R. Tarver II Cultural & Heritage Center on the campus of Southern University. With registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The event will provide SU students will a full day of networking, pitch competitions, and future-focused career sessions with DRAX industry professional and Southern alumni as part of the SU Ag Center’s Capacity Building Series, a high-impact initiative designed to prepare students for careers in agriculture, energy, and sustainability.

Students will engage in the following interactive sessions:

·        “Ready, Set, Green!” Workforce Readiness for a Sustainable Future

·        Innovation in AgTech – Sustainable Solutions Case Challenge

·        AgriPitch: Innovation Meets Impact – The Agriculture Shark Tank

·        Careers in Motion – Industry Insights Panel
