CAHES Doctoral Student Georrein Dupre Appointed as MANRRS Graduate Student Vice President






Baton Rouge, La. - Georrein Dupre, an Environmental Toxicology doctoral student in the Southern University College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences (CAHES), has been appointed as the Region IV Graduate Student Vice President of the Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) organization. This appointment was announced during the organization’s 40th National Conference and Career Expo, held in Dallas, Texas, from April 8-12, 2026.
Georrein has been a vital fixture within the Environmental Toxicology Department, consistently doing great work and representing the CAHES through travel and outreach efforts that raise awareness and promote the college’s mission.
MANRRS is a collegiate organization dedicated to fostering academic and professional development by empowering members in agriculture, natural resources, and related sciences. Its mission is to support student members in becoming productive, career-ready individuals through leadership development, educational opportunities, job readiness training, and facilitating internships, and employment placements.
In his new national role, Dupre will be responsible for recruiting new student officers whose vision aligns with the organization’s mission. He will also develop and implement initiatives aimed at recruiting, retaining, and tracking graduate student members and alumni within his region. Additionally, he will collaborate with regional counterparts to plan and execute regional cluster meetings, including active participation in the upcoming national conference scheduled to be held in San Diego, California, in 2027.
