EMERGENCY: Due to a power outage, classes and campus operations are delayed until 1 p.m. today (Sept. 1, 2026).

The Southern University Baton Rouge landmass is currently experiencing a power outage. Crews are assessing the situation, and there is not yet an estimated time for power restoration.

The Southern University Ag Center, Southern University and A&M College, and the Southern University Law Center, will have a delayed start on Sept. 1, 2026, with campus operations and classes beginning at 1 p.m.

Southern University Laboratory School will be closed for the day.

Limited meal service is available at Mayberry and Dunn dining halls.
