Middle School Students to Compete in Black History Quiz Bowl Championship
Baton Rouge, La. – The Southern University Land-Grant Campus will host a Championship Middle School Black History Quiz Bowl Competition at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28 at the SU Ag Center.
Owusu Bandele, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus at the SU Land-Grant Campus, held Black History Quiz Bowls at Scotlandville, McKinley and Westdale Middle Schools during the month of February. The top two teams – consisting of four members - from each school will compete during the championship competition.
Topics covered during the event will including current events, politics, history, sports and entertainment.
Members of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive medals and every participant will receive a book by or about some aspect of the Black experience.
The College and Middle School Black History Quiz Bowls were organized by Bandele.
