Sixty-seven students received degrees from the College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences

Baton Rouge, La. – Sixty-seven students from the College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences’ (CAHES) received degrees during Southern University’s Spring 2026 Commencement Ceremonies held in the F. G. Clark Activity Center. A graduate ceremony was held on Thursday, May 14 at 2 p.m. and an undergraduate ceremony was held on Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m.

The speaker for the graduate ceremony is Harry L. Williams, Ph.D., who serves as the chief executive officer and president of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, the nation’s foremost organization exclusively representing the Black college community.

Paula A. Shepherd, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Banner Plans and Networks, which serves more than 1 million people across six states, was the speaker for the undergraduate ceremony.

The Ag students joined more than 600 students who received degrees during both ceremonies.

·        Destinae Davis, from Lebeau, LA, earned a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences and Technology with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine

·        Ikira Butler, from Plaquemine, LA, earned a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences and Technology with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine

·        Arynn  Jenkins, from Montgomery, AL, earned a B.S. Agricultural Sciences and Technology with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine

·        Genisus Hammond, from New Orleans, LA, earned a B.S. in Human Sciences with a concentration in Fashion Merchandising and Design
