SU Ag Center & College of Ag to host a Student Professional Development Summit with DRAX






Baton Rouge, La. – The Southern University Ag Center and the SU College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences (CAHES) will host the Cultivating Capacity, Empowering Futures Professional Development Summit for Southern University students with with DRAX, an international leader in sustainable energy.
The summit will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Leon R. Tarver II Cultural & Heritage Center on the campus of Southern University. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
The event will provide SU students will a full day of networking, pitch competitions, and future-focused career sessions with DRAX industry professional.
Students will engage in the following interactive sessions:
· “Ready, Set, Green!” Workforce Readiness for a Sustainable Future
· Innovation in AgTech – Sustainable Solutions Case Challenge
· AgriPitch: Innovation Meets Impact – The Agriculture Shark Tank
· Careers in Motion – Industry Insights Panel

The Summit is a part of the SU Ag Center’s Capacity Building Series, a high-impact initiative designed to prepare students for careers in agriculture, energy, and sustainability.
DRAX is a United Kingdom based, renewable energy company engaged in renewable power generation, the production of sustainable biomass, and the sale of renewable electricity to businesses.
