SU Ag Center to hold a Virtual Grant Writing Lunch & Learn Series






Baton Rouge, La. – The Southern University Ag Center, in collaboration with Courtney L. Hunt Coaching and Consulting and the Baton Rouge Metropolitan-Chamber of Commerce, will hold the virtual grant writing lunch and learn series, “Beyond the Basics: Building A Winning Funding Strategy.”
The four-part series will be held throughout the month of October from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates:
• October 8: Finding the RIGHT Grants: Stop Searching, Start Strategizing
• October 15: Reading the RFP Like a Funder
• October 22: Building a Budget That Funders Can Trust
• October 29: You Got the Grant. NOW WHAT?
This is the SU Ag Center’s second grant writing series in 2026. The first series titled, “Grant Writing Basics: From Mission to Money,” provided participates with grant writing fundamentals.
“Our Grant Writing Basics series was overwhelmingly successful, and participants consistently expressed a desire to go beyond the fundamentals and explore the grant-development process in greater depth,” expressed Dr. Krystle Allen, Assistant Specialist for Community and Economic Development at the SU Ag Center. “Beyond the Basics: Building A Winning Funding Strategy was created in direct response to that feedback. This series will provide participants with practical strategies to strengthen their proposals, identify sustainable funding opportunities, and develop more competitive approaches to securing resources for their organizations and communities,” added Dr. Allen.
