Carolyn Robinson is a broadly trained extension agent at the Southern University Ag Center in East and West Carroll and Morehouse Parishes. She has over 30 years of successful service in Family and Human Sciences, Agriculture, and Youth Development. Carolyn is a gifted strategist and tactician who plans extension programs based on locally identified needs, leading to improved quality of living for individuals and families.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Fashion Merchandising from Northeast Louisiana University, now known as University of Louisiana at Monroe, and a Master of Public Administration in Health Services Administration from Grambling State University. Carolyn also completed graduate hours in Human Resource Management at Louisiana State University.
Specialization area: Parenting, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Youth Development, and Financial Management.



Theresa Sammons Bonner is a Nutrition Educator Assistant for the SNAP-Ed program in East and West Carroll Parishes. Theresa utilizes the MyPlate curriculum and has sites that she visits monthly. She provides nutrition lessons and food demonstrations on healthy meals and snacks. Theresa’s participants range in age from preschool to senior citizens. She enjoys working with people of all ages. Overall, she encourages each one to actively pursue healthy living by following the MyPlate nutritional guide and incorporating the recommended physical activity level for their age group.
Specialization area: MyPlate curriculum, healthy food preparation, and physical activity.
Sonhita Sarkar is responsible for managing the budget of grants which includes the authorization of Cooperative Extension expenditures, pre-budget approval; and analyzing and reviewing expenditures of funds for grants and contracts to ensure compliance. She prepares and submits payment requests; monitors spending on each budget line; reviews and approves submitted requests for budget modifications that do not require the agency’s approval. Sonhita also prepares invoices and drawdowns for the receipt of funds; prepares and submits fiscal reports; and close-out reports as required by sponsors.
She maintains financial management and fiscal control over all federal flow through grants with various state agencies and colleges in the State of Louisiana.
Specialization area: Financial management of externally sponsored programs, which includes the preparation and submission of related financial reports and invoices, cash collections, expenditure compliance review, and cost transfers.






Tonya has spent the last two years following her passion for a healthy lifestyle and bringing that passion to her community as a Certified Nutrition Educator for the Southern University Ag Center.
Tonya earned a degree in Business from Southern University.

Ana Williams serves as the Program Coordinator for JAGCATION, a summer youth camp at the Southern University Agricultural Research & Extension Center. In this role, she oversees camp operations, providing supervision, management, and support to staff throughout the camp’s cycle.
Her professional journey began at Southern University, where she worked as an assistant volleyball coach. She later transitioned into Career Services as a Special Assistant, further developing her leadership and administrative skills.
With a strong background in sports, career services, and public health, Williams brings a unique blend of experience and dedication to youth development. Her passion for mentorship and program coordination continues to shape positive experiences for young individuals at JAGcation.
Williams earned her bachelor’s degree in human performance with a concentration in Sports Medicine and a minor in Psychology in May 2021. Committed to public health and community engagement, she pursued and completed a master’s degree in public health at Howard University in May 2023.
