Emergency Preparedness

Being prepared for emergencies is one of the most important things we can do to stay safe in times of crisis. Whether it's a natural disaster like a hurricane or earthquake, or a man-made emergency such as a fire or active shooter situation, being prepared can help minimize damage and save lives. It's crucial to have an emergency kit stocked with supplies like water, non-perishable food, first aid supplies, flashlights, batteries, medications and more. Families should also have an emergency plan in place with evacuation routes and a meeting place. By taking steps like building kits, making plans and getting training in first aid and CPR, we can be ready to respond quickly and effectively if disaster strikes. Proper emergency preparedness can help reduce panic and confusion when seconds count. It gives us the tools and knowledge we need to weather the storm and get to safety. Being ready for any emergency is vital to protecting ourselves and our communities.
