BAYOU Summer Program
The Southern University Land-Grant Campus has several programs aimed at teaching youth about the exciting world of Agriculture and Family and Consumer Sciences! These programs under the umbrella of Beginning Agricultural Youth Opportunity Unit (BAYOU) have something for everyone, from Pre-K to College. Take a look at what we've got this summer!

BAYOU I
This program targets high school juniors and seniors with the goal of exposing students to career opportunities in the Agricultural, Family, and Consumer science disciplines. Participants gain knowledge of these opportunities through campus and departmental tours, industry excursions, immersion in a collegiate classroom environment and laboratory experience in the form of a short-term research project. BAYOU II (SARDI)
The High School Learning Enhancement Summer Program targets rising juniors and seniors in high school. This program focuses on learning enhancements for high school students in the form of ACT prep, tutoring in English, math, and science, and soft-skills enhancement. Students in this program are also exposed to career opportunities in Agriculture, Family, and Consumer Sciences through immersion into the S.T.E.M. of Agriculture. provides an opportunity for a select number of high school youth to gain additional learning enhancements in Science, Math, and English.
