Legislative Affairs and External Relations

The Office of Communications, Technology & Advancement's Department of Legislative Affairs and External Relations is the SU Ag Center's liaison with federal, state, and local government. It encompasses a diverse range of departments at the SU Ag Center which collectively aim to cultivate a favorable image, nurture media relations, and engage various stakeholders such as alumni, prospective students, donors, government officials, and civic leaders.

Under the guidance of Dr. Katara A. Williams, Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement & External Relations, the Department of Legislative Affairs and External Relations oversees governmental relations and directs various initiatives pertaining to public relations, community service, promotions, and institutional advancement. The goal is to:

• Promote the SU Ag Center by increasing visibility and support among external stakeholders.
• Develop programs and strategic communications that foster greater understanding of the SU Ag Center's mission.
