Destinae Davis
Destinae Davis is an Agricultural Science major with a Pre-Veterinary concentration at Southern University and A&M College, maintaining a GPA of 3.48. She is deeply passionate about animal health and sustainable agriculture, aiming to contribute to both fields through her education and hands-on experience. Since 2023, Destinae’ has worked closely with the Center of Excellence for for 3 years , supporting health initiatives and community gardening efforts. She also volunteers at Hammond Animal Hospital, assisting with veterinary tasks and client care. Additionally, she gained valuable experience as a Summer Soil Conservationist with the USDA NRCS, helping farmers implement sustainable land practices.
Destinae’ interned at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, researching the microbiome's impact on human health. She has presented at multiple conferences, including the 1890 Center of Excellence Symposium and George Washington Carver Lecture Series.
As a USDA 1890 National Scholar, Destinae’ is involved in several campus organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., the Animal Science and Pre-Vet Club, and MANRRS, and serves as Co-Chair for the NAACP. Her academic and extracurricular activities make her a promising future leader in veterinary medicine and sustainable agriculture.
San'aa Doss
San'aa Doss is a student-athlete on the women's soccer team, balancing the demands of rigorous academic studies and athletic excellence with a commitment to helping others.She is passionate about the intersection of nutrition and health. She aspires to pursue holistic medicine, inspired by a deep desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those around her. She envisions a future where she can travel to different countries, learning from native communities who have preserved ancient practices of healing through the use of herbs, plants, fruits, and vegetables.
Driven by this vision, she plans to bring this invaluable knowledge back to the United States. Her goal is to create a bridge between holistic and modern medicine, integrating traditional wisdom with contemporary scientific advancements. By doing so, she hopes to help as many people as possible, offering them natural, holistic solutions to their health challenges.
In addition to her academic and athletic pursuits, San'aa is an active volunteer at SU Cafe Lacumba and a member of the Association for Women's Students. Her unwavering determination to help others, coupled with her diverse experiences, uniquely positions her to be a future leader in the field of holistic health and nutrition.
J'Me Bryant
J’Me Bryant is a dedicated senior majoring in Pre-Veterinary Medicine with a passion for marine mammal health and conservation. With aspirations to become a marine mammal veterinarian, J’Me is focused on utilizing nutrition and wellness toenhance food processes that support the well-being of these incredible animals.
Beyond academics, J’Me is actively involved in several campus organizations, including JAg Ambassadors, Ag Buddy Freshman Mentors, Alpha Zeta and the Animal Science/Pre-Vet Club. Additionally, they are leading efforts to establish a new Marine Sciences Club, fostering a community for students interested in oceanic research and marine animal care.
With a commitment to both veterinary science and marine conservation, J’Me is eager to make a lasting impact on the health and sustainability of marine mammal populations.
Hannah Brister
Hannah attends Southern University A&M College, where she is a sophomore honor student from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, maintaining a GPA of 3.48. Hannah seeks to be a role model for young children. Her academic goals include obtaining an undergraduate degree in child development. Hannah’s postgraduate goals involve attending graduate school, starting a journey as a child therapist, and ultimately receiving her PhD to become a child psychologist. It is her hope to one day be able to support children’s mental health. Hannah also dreams to become a childcare owner so she can grow her professional skills and continue her service to children.
Some of Hannah’s most memorable moments have been serving as the 2022-2023 Nu Gamma Omega Debutante Queen, graduating from Southern University Laboratory School, and meeting new people in her transition to the college experience. Hannah has participated in the SU BAYOU Program and the Southern University Jaguar Success Academy. She was recognized as the 2023 Jaguar Success Academy Student of the Summer. She currently serves as a member of the CAHES Ambassadors and the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society.
Her love for children is shared in her work and volunteerism daily. Hannah serves as the Jr. Cheerleading Coach at Southern University Laboratory School. Here, she has been able to share her love for the sport while mentoring young girls ages 7–12. Hannah has also worked part-time as a childcare teacher with Kidz Karousel Academy Addis, where she learns more about child development and nurtures our youngest learners. Hannah regularly seeks opportunities that allow her to volunteer. During these volunteer events, she has had the opportunity to support the underprivileged and engage in mentoring and enrichment activities with children.
Psalms 46:5 resonates with Hannah: “God is within her; she will not fall."

Makayla Eugene is a second-year Honors Agribusiness student from Brandywine, Maryland as well as a fifth-generation farmer. Her interest and passion for diet and health disparity stems from her agricultural background. She has had active experience in assisting her family in working to understand and develop conservation and livestock production plans with local, state, and federal officials and She hopes to use this experience as well as the research experience she have obtained to reach her future goal. This goal is to work on the front lines to decrease the long-term effects of both economic and food inequity in the minority community.
