SU Ag Center set to hold its Annual Morehouse Parish Farm Field Day
Baton Rouge, La. – The Southern University Ag Center, in conjunction with the LSU AgCenter, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Morehouse Black Farmers and Landowners Association, Inc., and the National Black Growers Council, will hold its Annual Morehouse Farm Field Day on July 21, 2023.
The event will be held at Antwain Downs Farm, located at 8740 Grabault Road, in Bastrop, LA 71220, beginning at 8 a.m.
“This field day keeps the farmers abreast of the new technology in seeds, herbicides, and new production,” said Odis Hill, SU Ag Center Assistant County Agent. “The USDA will also attend to provide outreach services on their new programs,” added Hill.
The field day will include presentations on the importance of wills, USDA updates, and information on loans available through the USDA’s Farm Service Agency. Several companies will also be in attendance to speak to the youth about opportunities available within their companies.
Representatives from the SU and LSU Ag Centers will also be in attendance during the field day.
