SU Ag Center’s Small Farmer Academy to hold its Spring Session

Baton Rouge, La. – The SU Ag Center’s Small Farmer Academy will begin its Spring session in mid-April.
The sessions will be held from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturdays at the Maurice A. Edmond Multipurpose Building, 14600 Scenic Hwy, in Baton Rouge, LA 70807.
The five-session course will include topics on business plans and structures, hydroponics, hoop house construction, leadership, social media, and more. Farm tours will also be included in the session.

Dates and an official application will be sent after the course’s capacity is met and registration has closed.
The Southern University Ag Center’s Small Farmer Academy is a course of study specifically designed to guide small and limited resource farmers through the process of becoming more successful agricultural entrepreneurs. This unique training prepares small farmers to enhance their decision-making on their farms or agricultural operations, while also equipping them with the necessary skills and expertise to assume positions of leadership in the agricultural community.
