SU Ag Center set to host its Fall Garden Workshop

Baton Rouge, La. – The Southern University Ag Center will host its Fall Garden Workshop on November 22nd at the M. A. Edmond Livestock Arena’s Multipurpose Building, 14600 Scenic Hwy., in Baton Rouge from 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

 

The free workshop themed " Ag Practices to Homestead Farming" will provide backyard gardeners, teachers, community garden coordinators and anyone interested in gardening with information and hands-on demonstrations on how to prepare your garden for the Fall season.

 

Topics and demonstrations covered during the workshop will include:

  • Small Husbandry - (Poultry, Rabbits, Hogs, Goats) 
  • Food Preservation - (Canning 101)
  • Mushroom Growing- (Appetizing & Healthy)

 

The Southern University Ag Center, its Wisteria Alliance Program and the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Program are co-sponsoring this event.
