Protect Your Garden During a Frost

Louisiana's USDA Plant Hardiness Zones range from 8b- 10a. Baton Rouge lies in the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 9a, which means that the area is subtropical. A subtropical climate can be defined as  a region with plants that thrive in warm winters and long growing seasons. Therefore, when Baton Rouge experiences freezing temperatures, it's important to properly protect subtropical plants as to not lose them to the freezing and below freezing temperatures.
