2018 Black History Quiz Bowl slated for February 22

The Southern University Land-Grant Campus will host the 24th Annual Black History Quiz Bowl on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. in the Studio of the SU Ag Center – A. O. Williams Hall. 
Urban Forestry Professor Zhu H. Ning Receives Funding from USDA/NIFA

Urban Forestry Professor Zhu H. Ning, PhD/Project Director, and her project team have received $297,479.00 from the US Department of Agriculture/National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) for Capacity Building Grant Program in support of a new project titled “Modeling Approach to Climate Change and Natural Resource Education.

2017 ARD Award Winners

Yadong Qi, Ph.D., received the distinguished Morrison-Evans Outstanding Scientist Award for 2017 from the Association of 1890 Research Directors’ (ARD) at its biennial symposium in Atlanta, Georgia, April 1 – 4. Qi is Interim Department Chair and Director of the Urban Forestry Graduate Program, a professor of Urban Forestry with the Southern University College of Agricultural, Family and Consumer Sciences and a research scientist in the SU Ag Center.
