Baton Rouge, La. – Twenty-three small farmers from 11 states received certificates of completion during a graduation ceremony for Cohort VI of the SU Land-Grant Campus’ Regional Small Farmer Agricultural Leadership Institute. The ceremony was held on June 1, 2018 in the Southern University Law Center.

Baton Rouge, La. – The Southern University Agricultural Land-Grant Campus held a Strategic Planning Retreat on May 15-16, 2018 at the Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union and the SU Ag Center.

Eighty-one, 9th grade students from East Feliciana High School visited the Southern University Agricultural Land-Grant Campus on March 20, 2018. The high school students learned about the opportunities available through the College of Agricultural, Family and Consumer Sciences and the SU Ag Center. The students also learn how to apply to Southern University.

Six teams of eager middle school students from McKinley Middle Magnet, Westdale Middle School and Scotlandville Middle Pre-Engineering Academy competed in the SU Land-Grant Campus’s Middle School Black History Quiz Bowl Championship Competition on Feb. 28.

The Southern University Land-Grant Campus will host a Championship Middle School Black History Quiz Bowl Competition at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28 at the SU Ag Center.

The 24th Annual Black History Quiz Bowl was held on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. in the Southern University Ag Center.

Southern University is currently in the process of finalizing its contract with Lafayette based Advanced Biomedics, LLC as the University’s medical marijuana cultivation and production facility operator.

Ronald Pittman, a junior at Baker High School, was excited to tell the SU Land-Grant Campus staff that he wants to enroll in the College of Agriculture at Southern University!
