Southern University College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences (CAHES) students and two faculty members are participating in a cultural exchange conference in Beijing, China.

The Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center and the College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences have been awarded three capacity building grants through the USDA/NIFA's 1890 institution Teaching, Research and Extension Capacity Building Grants Program. The grants will research the effectiveness of natural feminine hygiene products, recruit the next generation of natural resource students, and educate youth on career opportunities in the agricultural sector.

The College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences hosted 28 high school seniors and incoming college freshmen during it annual BAYOU Summer Program.

The Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center has partnered with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) to host the 2nd annual Soul of the Soil.
