The SU Ag Center will celebrate its 80th Annual Livestock and Poultry Show on March 2 - 4, 2023. Several events have been planned leading up to the Livestock Show to mark this historic occasion.

Floyd Harris, College of Agricultural, Family and Consumer Sciences student, received the Unsung Hero Award at the MLK Unity Celebration held on Southern University Campus and hosted by Louisiana State University. Ms. Keandrys Dalton, Research Associate for the SU Ag Center, recommended Harris for this award.

Southern University students Caleb Washington and Nikolas Lawrence, both students in the College of Agricultural, Family, and Consumer Sciences, receive Merchandise Grant from the LaMotte Company Environmental Education Photo Contest.

Research professors Dr. Lashunda Hodges, Dr. Jacqueline McComb, and Dr. Crystal Vance have been awarded a cooperative agreement to assess the soil health status of urban soils affected by flooding near the Southern University Baton Rouge Campus to support climate-smart agriculture and soil health initiatives.
